Modern Day Herbal Medicine
Modern day herbal medicine is a refined process using standardized products grown through reputable farmers. The use of plants for medicinal purposes predates documented history and forms the basis of much of modern medicine. Many conventional medicines come from plant sources: most of the few successful drugs were plant-based a century ago. Aspirin (from willow bark), digoxin (from foxglove), quinine (from cinchona bark), and morphine (from the opium poppy) are examples of medicine derived from plants. With drug companies participating in large-scale pharmacological screening of herbs, the production of medicines from plants continues.
Here at our Derby studio, we only use granulated herbal medicine from Phoenix Medical, who are suppliers to NHS clinical trials. We never use animal products in our herbal medicine, making them suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Herbal Medicine formulas can either be a standard formula or bespoke formula crafted by our practitioner who has a post graduate diploma in Chinese Herbal Medicine.

For example, if you are prescribed a herbal “tea”, you will simply mix the dry granules into hot water and drink once or twice per day as prescribed. This treatment may only be needed for a week or maybe over several months.
